Drew Gordon, Former Professional Basketball Player, Dies in Car Crash
Drew Gordon, a former professional basketball player and the older brother of Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, died in a car crash in Portland, Oregon on Thursday.
Gordon's agent, Calvin Andrews, confirmed his death to ESPN's Marc Spears. According to Andrews, Gordon was driving home from a workout when the crash occurred.
Gordon was a standout basketball player at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California. He played college basketball at the University of New Mexico before being drafted by the Utah Jazz in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft.
Gordon played in the NBA for several seasons, including stints with the Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, and Dallas Mavericks. He also played professionally in China, Mexico, and the NBA G League.
Gordon's death is a tragic loss for the basketball community. He was a talented player and a beloved teammate and friend.
